Lucknow. Alongside intensifying the crackdown on Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators—who have emerged as a major threat to internal security—a comprehensive action plan for their identification and surveillance is being finalized. Sources indicate that biometric profiles will also be created for those infiltrators detained in detention centers. Their fingerprints, iris scans, facial features, and other identity-related details will be securely stored. A list of suspects is also being compiled, which will be referred to as the “Negative List.” The police administration is making preparations with the specific objective of ensuring that once an infiltrator is deported, they are unable to re-enter the country. The existence of biometric profiles will facilitate their easy identification in the future. This list of suspects will also be shared with the police forces of other states.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also issued directives to utilize state-of-the-art technology to ensure robust security arrangements within the detention centers. Comprehensive records of the infiltrators will be maintained at these centers. In addition to establishing multi-layered security perimeters around the detention centers, advanced CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the movement of all individuals entering or exiting the premises.
The identification of these infiltrators is expected to curb the misappropriation of benefits from government schemes by a large number of ineligible individuals. Furthermore, it will have a direct positive impact on the maintenance of law and order. According to an official, a significant number of infiltrators are involved in smuggling and various other criminal activities. Such facts are coming to light during ongoing investigations across various districts. Indeed, several infiltrators involved in criminal offenses have already been apprehended in the past.
