High Alert Issued in Bihar Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit Following Pahalgam Terror Attack

Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, a high alert was issued across the entire state of Bihar on Thursday, ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s scheduled visit. The Director General of Police (DGP) stated that the state police have been instructed to exercise extreme vigilance. On the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, the Prime Minister is set to address all Gram Sabhas (village assemblies) across the country from Madhubani.

In light of the terror incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bihar, the Police Headquarters has placed all districts of the state on high alert and issued directives to maintain special vigilance. Orders have been issued to intensify surveillance and conduct round-the-clock patrolling, particularly in the border districts adjacent to Nepal and Bangladesh. Furthermore, security arrangements have been bolstered at major tourist hubs, including Patna, Bodh Gaya, and Rajgir. Authorities have also been directed to further strengthen security measures at the Patna and Darbhanga airports.

DGP Reviews Security Arrangements

According to sources, DGP Vinay Kumar conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation on Wednesday during a video conference meeting with the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the border districts; the meeting lasted for approximately two hours. During this session, senior police officials were instructed to seek the assistance of additional security forces and reinforcements as deemed necessary.

The mortal remains of Manish Ranjan—a native of Rohtas who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack—will not be brought back to Bihar. His last rites are expected to be performed in Purulia, West Bengal.

Responding to media inquiries, DGP Vinay Kumar confirmed that Manish held the rank of Inspector within the Central Excise Department. He was posted in South India. His in-laws reside in Purulia, West Bengal, and his funeral rites are expected to take place there. No immediate family members of his currently reside in Rohtas.

Thought for the Day

Peace of mind is the greatest wealth. Instead of searching for it in external circumstances, look within yourself. When your mind is calm, even the most difficult situations seem simple.
